As the expression goes, "Necessity is the mother of invention," and so I have invented a patent pending removable, leakproof and machine washable car seat cover. After being frustrated by the struggle to remove the cover only to learn that the care label says, "Do not machine wash." I decided an idea was born, the nomie baby car seat cover is the answer. I am now working on getting the word out. The feedback has been terrific. I am also in the process of developing new products all with the aim to make parents' life easier. Please visit www.nomiebaby.com. I would love thoughts on spreading the word.

Thank you,

Hello fellow moms - I am so glad to be here. I just love the world of WAHM! I was a SAHM for 6 years - doing about a year of very part time work for my former company, as an insurance underwriter. All of the work was done from home on my computer. Once I quickly became pregnant with our second child, I decided to leave my work aside, and leave the working world. I had done that for about 6 years, and I just literally "fell" into two incredibly lucrative WAHM positions. First, I have always had a nack for interior decorating. Many friends had always commented on my eye for decor, and I often helped others design their own spaces. This past year, I was approached by a doctor to redesign her entire office space. It was then that I decided to incorporate, and start my own interior decorating business, called Decorate Realestate, LLC. I have no problem keeping VERY busy with that business.

But, since then, to my UTMOST surprise, I have found my true passion. After a friend had introduced me to a new product called Scentsy - pottery with at 25watt light bulb, that melts fragranced wax to just above room and body temperature. These pieces are incredibly decorative, and the scents are INCREDIBLE. Plus, they completely REPLACE the candle, as they are WICK, SOOT, SMOKE, and FIRE free!! There is Zero risk!! I was cautious, having a bad taste in my mouth regarding home party buisnesses, but decided to invest the $99 and try it out. Well, I fell in LOVE!!! I am able to sell a product that everyone LOVES, and it is marketable beyond the typical home party. Any corporate environment loves it,as it give the look, feel, and smell of a candle with out the risk. Also, coporpate professionals love this product as an affordable client gift. And, realtors fall all over it - as it provides a safe and effective means to freshening up their houses on the market. I went from sweat pants, to wearing a suit, and presenting this product to the buisiness world. It has gone over EXTREMELY well, and with in a few 8 months, I have found myself at the TOP of the company ladder. This is a GREAT new company, that is growing at 500-600%. 99% of my work is done from home, so I still consider myself a WAHM. I Love it - check it out at www.scentsy.com/jodialbertini After a year in business with this company, I will be making well over a six figure salary - now is the right time to get on board!!! The midwest (where I live) is just getting introduced to the product, but the east coast hasn't even seen it. This an opportunity waiting to happen for the right person in the right area. Contact me via my website if you have any interest in the product, or the business. I am happy to share my passion with EVERYONE - because I want to see others succeed as I have. And, who would have know - I went from Corporate America, working in downtown Chicago to a direct sales company and I LOVE IT!!!

Jodi, wife to Jason, and mom to Anthony & Nina

Hello Fellow Mompreneurs!

It's great to see how passionate everyone is about their business. This is key.

In 1999 I pursued my most important passion in life, that is to have a family. Four kids later I realized I also had an entrepreneurial spirit inside of me that wanted to come and play.

I decided a home based business was perfect for me because it offers the flexibility of working when you want, where and with who you want. I started a business with a network marketing company in April of 2007 and I realized after a while I was not very passionate about their product or business model. So I decided this time I would find a company that I felt had valuable products and I was passionate about. After much research I found a 52 year old company that is an earthly friendly Green Home Business http://www.GoGreenLiveLonger.com and I am now one of their most successful members!

What I love the most is being able to help other wahm's become successful as well!

Every business here is so diverse but the passion is universal! That is awesome!

Wahm's Rock!

I am just starting a new online jewelry business. We are in the process of putting together the various styles we will offer and building the website. As I'm also working my full time job, it is going slow. However, once I am able to complete the website and get it off the ground more, I hope to be able to quit the full time job and make this business my full time job. We've already made a small amount of sales by word of mouth and so far it's going pretty well.

I'm also looking into a possible business future with web design. I had originally thought 6-8 months ago that I might get into that line of business, but then this online jewelry opportunity arose and I decided to jump at it. I am still going to pursue the web design as it will allow me to keep our own site updated, and who knows, maybe I can do a little freelancing for others along the way.

Mel,

Just a thought, have you checked out Market America?

They have websites that you can "sell" and design, as well as have your own business. The website is: www.marketamerica.com

You can learn alot in a short period of time with these websites as well as make a good turn around profit from it.

If you would like more information, just message me here at WorkItMom, and let me know.

Hope this information is helpful.

I am a Director with Thirty-One Gifts. I have tried other direct sales businesses before and was not at all successful. My cousin who is a teacher (now makes double her teacher salary a month), asked me to have a 31 party. I agreed and fell in love, 8 months later here I am. I love what I am doing, I get to be "Sarah" instead of moma a few hours a week. Those few hours make all the difference in me, my self esteem, and every part of my life. I love it and can't say that enough. www.mythirtyone.com/sarah

Woow!
Congratulations to all you creative and versatile moms. I guess being a mom is what twists your mind against so many things.

I have been doing some twisting myself..

Soon after my 2nd baby and losing 25-odd lb, I found that there were no products to help reduce my mummy tummy, for my sagging face and the massive amounts of hair I was losing.
Drawing on my aromatherapy education & research on natural oils, I formulated for myself, what we now call Tummy Tucker (Xtra) to reduce sagging belly skin in 1-2 weeks.

After that happened, my confidence soared and I made a firming serum, now called Orchid antiaging Serum with Orchid Extract

My last major area was the immense hairloss postpartum- it began to grow thinner and thinner and hit upon the hidden combination of oils that reduced my hairloss, put back hair in a receding parting line, It was so good we now have na Eyelash Lengthener to grow eyelashes.

Along with my sister who is a chemist, we developed this into an online business which now has 20-odd products, many which address issues that dont get proper results by products on the market - except maybe by products that people like me cannot afford.

These 3 remain our topsellers, and while we have quite a few satisfied customers, still havent found effective advertising - as it is a niche market - so anyone who has ideas, can leave me a message

The products are 100% natural with no preservatives and no chemicals, have to be made in very small batches for effectiveness (short shelf life) and it seems all our time is taken up by this.
We do our own design, and have really high overheads - really badly want advice in this area

Do take a look at the site, www.Katuri.com and appreciate any comments on the blog - (the blog link will be up really soon on the top bar.)

I do have a listing which offers a free sample if you mail us mentioning you are from workitmom

Gosh this is a lot- mebbe I should just start with this on the blog!

Thanks for reading and good luck to all of you - hope to connect more later.

Hello everyone. I am brand new to this site and am really excited to be here. I have loved reading all about your businesses--so inspiring! In addition to my full time job as a Web Developer in the IT field, I'm also the CEO of my own business with lia sophia jewelry. I started selling lia sophia jewelry almost 2 years ago to support my every growing jewelry addiction. I LOVE this jewelry. It is high quality, fashion-forward, affordable jewelry. This business gives me the "me" time that I wasn't getting as a working mother. My kids, ages 5 and 8, love helping me prepare for shows and they especially like helping me open the jewelry when I get new samples. Check it out at www.liasophia.com/AnneEason.

Hello I’m new to Work it Mom! This website is so great and I’m excited to stumble onto it. I love being a stay at home! I have 3 boys and I am so blessed to be able to spend time with them.

My husband and I have been doing a lot of research on different types of home businesses available out there. We were ones of the many lives affected with the real estate market crash as my husband was in the real estate/loans industry during the market boom. We have been looking into other programs from conventional to non-conventional but just a few months ago we joined a company that offered a way for just about anyone to improve their lives not only personally but also financially.

What made us realize that this is the company we wanted to be a part of is that this is what so many people have been looking for as an answer to our economy with high gas prices, foreclosure rate, unemployment and etc. This business allows everyone to have a fresh start to be able to make ridiculous amount of money in a VERY short period of time. At the same time, help people rise from our economy today while working from the comfort of your own home and still be able to spend time with your family

To know more about us, check out www.fdidvd.com/9to5sux

For any questions, just message me here at WorkItMom.

Hi Everyone!

My name is Marisa and I'm a WOHM to two girls, one of which will be making her grand entrance in October. While I do have a 9-5, my goal for this year is to step up my part time business into something that will take over after the little one is born. I want to be able to create my own schedule and be there with my girls before they grow up without me!! So if anyone needs a fantastic bookkeeper, you can find me at www.SnowBusinessSolutions.com.

Evening!! I'm a Registered Nurse, Certified Medical Auditor and Legal Nurse Consultant by education, but home full time now (with my hubby) as Executive Directors with Melaleuca.

We were part of 11 different MLM and affiliate programs prior to Melaleuca and LOST a net of $25,000 (binaries where we had to BALANCE to be paid, selling really good but REALLY overpriced nutritional products, promoting gift stores, websites, personal development sites..... ALL non-necessities), but CDM has been soooo different for us thankfully!!

I have a front line position to fill for any serious builders.....

ROCK ON!!!! Onward and Upward!

Hi Ladies. I'm thrilled to be among such talented, strong, bold women. Currently, I own (3) businesses that I adore. My first business which is my baby, is 1 On 1 Computer Consulting. I teach home owners and business owners how to use their computer, in addition to Microsoft Office software.

My second business is Cardz Are Us. It’s a web based greeting card system that allows you to build and maintain relationships with clients, vendors, and prospects. You can mail a greeting card for $1.50 and never have to leave the comfort of your home or office. It’s such a useful tool that I often use it within my software training company.I've also used it to send my grandfather get well cards while in the hospital.

My newest venture is Charming Travels; a fully functional, online travel booking site. It’s similar to Expedia and Travelocity. Simply saying that I’m excited about Charming Travels is an understatement. Oftentimes, I reflect to when my oldest children were toddlers and I wanted to work from home. Every opportunity that I came across was either too expensive or appeared too suspicious. As a result, I want to share my knowledge, and part-time income generating opportunities with other moms to assist them with reaching their personal and professional goals. Please email or call me if you have any additional questions. Oh yes, I want to learn from the girls as well, only because we ROCK!

I work from home setting phone appointments and setting up accounts for an international wellness company and I do it while home schooling my 4 kids! When I want to take them to the zoo....we just go! No asking for time off and no loss of pay! When I feel like having a jammie day - we have a jammie day and I work my business in my jammies! Since gas and food prices are eating us alive with such a big family, I LOVE that I did not have to invest anything in this business, do home parties or sell products. I truly do work in my home, around our home schooling and family schedule with just my phone and computer. I love to share this business with other moms, so please feel free to visit my site www.workathomeunited.com/2requestinfo for more information!
