Do you work on weekends or try to stick to a regular work week?Flag as inappropriate Posted by Nataly on 1st December 2007

Regular work week when you´re an at home mom? Does that even exist?
I work whenever I can fit time in, 7 days a week. Since I ghostwrite 5 blogs, I have to post to them on a daily basis, which eliminates the possibility of a full day off. On Sundays, though, I do try to take a bit of time to do something fun, like watch a movie or go for ice cream with the boys.Flag as inappropriate Posted by Genesis on 2nd December 2007 -
On weekends, I try to limit my work to after the kids are in bed, and spend the day with them and my husband. Sometimes, though, "spend the day" really means "trade off with my husband so we can each try to get stuff done"!Flag as inappropriate Posted by Lylah M. Alphonse on 2nd December 2007

I work an odd schedule, well odd is relative in this business I guess. I get up before my kids and get odd jobs done, then once they are off to school I work from 730am-230pm while they are at school. When they get home I spend some time wtih them getting homework done, and just hanging out. I return calls and general cleanup between 430 and 5. ONce they go to bed I clear out email and plan for the next day. I try and keep Saturday and Sunday just for them but I do sneak in a few hours work on sunday night.Flag as inappropriate Posted by NSB Mom on 5th December 2007

I work full time and freelance part time, so I have no choice but to work weekends too. I'm probably freelance about 20 hrs a week, in addition to my full time job (both as a web designer). It's exhausting, but you gotta do what you gotta do to pay the bills, right? LOL. At least I love what I do, so it's actually not bad at all (I wouldn't be doing it if I didn't enjoy it so much!)
I'm very fortunate that my husband and I have been able to arrange our work schedules so that we can take care of DD while the other is working. I've got to work early mornings and late nights during the week... and naptime and late nights on the weekends. But I've been managing. I've been able to limit the amount of time I work with my daughter to 2 hours a week (1 day a week when DH and I both work).
The balance is tough, but I've finally made a HUGE effort at not freelancing during DD's "time" - it's just for the full time job that I have to get in my hours and have no choice but to work with her once a week when DH is WOH, too. Thank goodness for DVD's LOL.Flag as inappropriate Posted by Selene M. Bowlby on 20th March 2008
