I am the co-founder & CEO of Work It, Mom! This is my first stint as a full-time entrepreneur and it's the most thrilling and scary thing I've ever done.
Before launching Work It, Mom! I slaved away in the dark world of venture capital.

For me, it would be some way to easily store my keys. I ALWAYS lose them in my bag and it's not even that big

I'm happily married for 12 years, have 2 wonderful children --boy and girl and entered the workforce again full time 3 years ago to become a graphic arts teacher. The only problem is that I had this idea of starting my own company in the meantime. Busy, Busy!

Who'd ever think that I'd eventually hold down 3 full time jobs.
The first person to tell me that being a Mother or a Wife isn't a full time job gets to kiss my size 10 (or maybe 12) butt.

A stealthy tampon pocket. Stupid? Yes, as I'm sure I could easily buy a cute bag or something to slide in there, but frankly, I need to get to those things fast and when I am digging in my bag for my wallet/keys/lipstick/phone.. I don't want every joe blow to see my tampons all flying around!

I have to agree with you Tattooed Mommie but for me it would for a pad. I would like a secret pocket just for that.
The handbag should also have a place for check books, cell phone, and keys.

A place to attach the keys to the bag. Like a key clip.

I'm a professional voice talent and mom to two fantastic girls. I run my own tiny company from home and find that juggling work at home and the kids, let alone the hubby and the house is a challenge every day. I'm also a yoga instructor which helps me get out of the house and clear my mind. I love everything I do (mom, work, wife, etc.) but am in a constant struggle for balance.

This time of year I want a place to keep my gloves/mittens so they aren't falling all over the place. I always have to take them off to buckle baby seats and, if I take them off while driving, I put them in my lap then inevitably they fall on the ground when I get out! Ick.
I have a large carabiner clip on my keys so that they clip to every bag: my purse, the diaper bag, even my LL Bean totes. Not very fashionable (except that it's pink) but very practical.

I am ridiculously proud of the fact that I get to raise two really amazing kids. I am single by design and wouldn't have it any other way. Professionally I have accomplished a lot both in the corporate world and running my own business. I know what it is like to be unemployed and under-employed. Personally, I am a diehard optimist, terminally perky and a hardcore believer in personal accountability.

Backpack straps. I apparently don't have shoulders since my bags always slide down to my elbow.

I am a mom on a journey. Life is good: happy healthy children. Great 10 year marriage that no one thought would last. Good career. Only problem is that I now need purpose and fulfillment in my life. Argh.

My mother had a purse on her Christmas list.
It had to meet her requirements:
dark brown
outside pocket for keys
single zipper, no flap
single strap, long enough to put on her shoulder with one motion
I was able to find one for her!
Personally, I'm not as picky, but I wish they would stop with the dark inner linings. So much easier to find stuff if it's light colored inside.

I am the very proud mother of a too-cute-for-words one year old son! My job has me commuting an hour each way, but I do work from home one day a week and get to see hubby and son as soon as they get home! My hubby takes our son to/from the onsite daycare where he works and is able to spend an hour or two bonding (i.e. wrestling)before i get home! :)

Alison - totally agree! all bags should have light colored or fun patterened interior lining!! i think origionally the dark lining is so you dont see how gross and dirty your bag gets but WHATEVER i need to find stuff!!
also for the 'descrete' place - dont most bags have a little inside zipper place? thats where i usually hide mine - and keep it zipped!
one thing i learned from Barbara Walters on one of her shows a long time ago (yes i never thought i would type that sentance) is to keep all the little stuff, like make up, or one for pens and a notepad, in a little 'interior' bag with a zipper so when you change purses you are just moving the little bag and your wallet and keys! easy! plus then you dont need a zillion pockets.. ;)
maybe they need to make more little interior bags that then coordinate with a number of exterior bags? oooh anyone make purses? write that one down! hehehe

I agree with everyone - but with mommy2kiera the most. An outside pocket for easy cell phone storage and access. This is my BIGGEST PITA - when my phone is ringing and I can't find it in my big ole purse. Also I agree with the place for key to be clipped on (how cool would it be to have a matching bag key-chain thing that you can use as a clip for keys. Finally, I LOVE LOVE LOVE backpack purses - they are really hard to find right now - I guess they are out of style. But, they aren't out of usefulness for the mom on the go.

WOW! So many good points mentioned. I agree with several...the outside pocket for a cell phone, discrete inside pocket or spot for tampon type things, and a special-can always locate -keys spot! I like the carabiner idea Mandy Nelson...I know have one of those somewhere....both my cell phone and my keys always seem to end up on the bottom of my purse. MUST change that!

For Me, This Is Going To Sound Funny. With Or Without My Kids Afoot, A Side Pocket For A Travel Size Thing Of Baby Wipes Or Small Hygiene Kits - SAHM, WAHM Or Career Mom, Hygiene Is A Must Isn't It? My Little Girl Is 10 Months Old So Baby Wipes Are A Fact Of Life In My Home And I'm Suffering From Dry Hands For Having To Wash Them 20+ Times A Day For Her. But I've Found Myself In Need Of Baby Wipes Or Something To Wash My Hands Off With When There Aren't Restrooms Around And I'd Use Them Even If I Didn't Have Lili With Me. Problem Is, Finding Them Quickly When You Need Them Or Having To Tote Even The Travel Size Containers And Keep Them Moist For When You Need Them Is The Challenge. What Do You All Think? Can You Relate?

Automatic organization. Since I am always on the run I tend to just throw things in my bag like keys and cell phone, then I am struggling trying to get the phone when it rings or dreading not finding the keys fast enough when I have to go potty after that 3rd cup of coffee on the way home.

I agree with everyone - constantly fishing around for my keys, cell phone, etc. And I need help organizing & remembering to empty all the junk that tends to accumulate in there!
And anything to remedy the need for my husband and son putting there stuff in MY bag. It's MY bag! Get your own!!!
