I'm a new Mom trying to juggle working at home and having a young baby. In the past year and a half I have gotten married, graduated college, and had a baby. I am trying to build up a business as a spanish/english translator. My husband is a teacher...so we get by, but we could always use more money. I also want to continue to keep my skills sharp, because I know I'm not going to want to stay home forever. I'm interested in making friends and networking with other inspired mamas!

Since this is a book club, I was wondering if anyone would like to read a book together and discuss. I was thinking fiction (but I'm absolutely up for suggestions), and we could all read a chapter a week and then post our thoughts.
First off is anyone interested?
Secondly, what do you wanna read?

I think that would be excellant. I am a fulltime working mother of two teenage daughters. I am actually able to read again. When the girls were little it seemed I never could get a book finished. When I had some actual free time, I found that I preferred to take a nap. Now I have more free time and I am loving getting to read again. Any book would be fine with me.

Awesome Laura! I'm so glad to see someone else interested. I've been excited to come and check to see if there has been any interest all day. I have just recently gotten back into reading myself. I read while I nurse...much better than tv I've found.
Anybody else interested? If you're on the fence, don't be! I know we're gonna have tons of fun

Well Laura,
It looks like it's just you and me. I was thinking of the novel Cranberry Queen by Kathleen DeMarco. It looks like a light hearted read. Let me know what you think.

I haven't heard anything about this book but any book is fine with me. I will try to get to the library today and see if they have it and I will respond back tonight and let you know. If they have it, I will check it out and we can begin our first book club online reading/discussion. I am excited.

I am going to the Library to get the book in the morning. Will we read a chapter each and then discuss it online or what do you all suggest?

That sounds good to me. How long should we have to read the chapter?

My library doesn't have it but the librarian said she would try to get it through interlibrary loan in a week or two maybe. I checked out "The Penny Tree" and "Water for Elephants". Do you guess have either of those?

Hey I'll check and see if I can get those books at the library. I don't think it should be a problem. My husband says that Water for Elephants is fantastic. I'll try and get those on Saturday.
