OMG amazing brownies
-
I had a hug bar of dark-chocolate Toberlone languishing in the pantry, and decided to put it to good use and adapted this recipe so I could use the chocolate up. It turned out so well, and was so easy, that I thought I'd share it!
Warning: I can't even pretend that this is low-fat or low cal. Next time I make it, it will be as a sub for a grown-up birthday cake, I think. It's really, really rich and fudgy.
Adapted from "How to be a domestic goddess" by Nigella Lawson
7 1/2 ounces of dark chocolate, chopped up
1 1/2 sticks unsalted butter
3 eggs
3/4 cup white sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
Set oven to 350 degrees. Line a 11 x 7 x 1 1/2 rectangular pan with aluminum foil or parchment paper.
In a heavy-bottomed saucepan, melt chocolate and butter together over low heat. Once melted, allow to cool slightly.
While that's cooling, beat together the eggs, sugar, and vanilla.
Measure out the flower and salt into a separate bowl, and whisk them together to combine.
Ladle about 1/4 cup of the warm chocolate into the egg mixture, stir well, then pour all of the egg mixture into the saucepan of chocolate. Whisk well to combine.
Add the flour mixture into the chocolate/egg mixture. You will have a smooth batter.
Pour into prepared pan.
Bake at 350 degrees for about 30 to 35 minutes (if you like goopier brownies, bake for 25 to 30 minutes).Flag as inappropriate Posted by Lylah M. Alphonse on 18th March 2008 -
