I'm a career mom with 3 kids ages 5, 8, and 20. I got started young and have worked very hard to achieve a solid career. It's funny, but I find that although younger and single with my first, being married, financially secure, and two kids is much more stressful. I'm looking for some balance and tips from other moms. I'm also interested in mom's that started their own businesses and how you've managed to do it! Or, had you switch careers

Boston was gorgeous today and couldn't help looking out the window at work and realize what I was missing. After nonstop work for almost a year (do I really have a family?), I snuck out...SSSHHH
So, I felt a little guilty and stumbled on this site. I hear about mom's like me, but never really see them (you). So I'm really not alone after all!
3 kids: 2 boys and a girl that surprise me everyday with how creative they are and how amazing life is. I'll also include our two dogs since they seem to need as much care as the kids - we call them the fur kids. Great husband and I can't believe he puts up with me.
I love the articles and comments and am excited to participate. Talk to you all soon.

I am the co-founder & CEO of Work It, Mom! This is my first stint as a full-time entrepreneur and it's the most thrilling and scary thing I've ever done.
Before launching Work It, Mom! I slaved away in the dark world of venture capital.

Hi, Michele -- welcome!
So glad you found us -- and Work It, Mom! is based in Boston, so you're close
It was stunning out today -- I had lunch in Cambridge (for work), but then had an extra 1/2 hour and chose to walk around instead of answering emails
Look forward to learning more about you -- if you ever have questions re the site, just let me know.

I'm a new Mom trying to juggle working at home and having a young baby. In the past year and a half I have gotten married, graduated college, and had a baby. I am trying to build up a business as a spanish/english translator. My husband is a teacher...so we get by, but we could always use more money. I also want to continue to keep my skills sharp, because I know I'm not going to want to stay home forever. I'm interested in making friends and networking with other inspired mamas!

I have an 18 month old son, and I work full time. I'm still trying to figure out how to balance everything out!

It's beautiful out today so far too! Too bad it's not supposed to last into the weekend. And I am jealous of all the kids and teachers off for April vacation this week!

I am a full time Department Manager, a full time mother to two beautiful boys and a full time wife.
I haven't figured out which full time job I like best. It really depends upon the day.
I was a Marine Brat and settled in Boston for college.

I just joined today for basicly the same reasons. Yesturday was so amazing that I spent most of it at work wishing I was home with my son (age 3). I am also from the area and love boston in the summer

Another sort-of-Boston-area working mom checking in! I'm mom to an 8 y-o boy. We actually live south of Boston. Hubby takes commuter train to his job in Boston and I work FT in RI. Gotta love this spring we're FINALLY having! I went out jogging at lunchtime around the big parking lot of a large bank up the street from my office. (Why there? Because it's about the only place around that's flat, and safe to run.) Welcome to the board. - Paula.

I'm a professional voice talent and mom to two fantastic girls. I run my own tiny company from home and find that juggling work at home and the kids, let alone the hubby and the house is a challenge every day. I'm also a yoga instructor which helps me get out of the house and clear my mind. I love everything I do (mom, work, wife, etc.) but am in a constant struggle for balance.
