Are you constantly seeking good deals on kids' clothes? Or do you take (drag?) the kids out for big stock-up shopping days periodically? (For example, before the new school year starts or as the seasons change.)

I'm always buying off season clothes just to get a good price!! I try to stick with good quality brands and frequent the stores and ask about upcoming sales. I am also an avid consignment shopper and will shop at garage sales. The challenge I have is that I like to dress my boys in coordinating or matching outfits and it is hard to find two of the same size on sale or at consignment stores.

My best buy was a matching pair of suede brown shoes for the boys. They were $8 each pair and I received an additional 25% off, too! I was so excited!!!

I really find that using the web wisely has been a great boon to "stock up" shopping. Two stores I frequent have $5 flat rate shipping so I just wait for the sales and watch retailmenot.com for extra coupons and stock up on both this season and next.

We also have an excellent resale shop here, but as my son has gotten older the pickings are slimmer. I find that there is much more gently used "stuff" out there for girls than for boys.

I hit the pacas here (second hand market, all the extra stuff from Goodwill, Salvation Army, etc. is packed up in massive blocks and sold to entrepreneurial spirits here) once every couple of months and stock up on stuff for pennies a piece.

I also tend to buy clothes that are large enough to be turned into something else . . . . my boys have several cute pants and shorts made out of maternity denim dresses and super size tee shirts! I really enjoy sewing so throwing together some very simple play pants is a great solution for us and the boys like it because I can use fun fabrics and patches, or make them matching outfits.

Consignment sales are really big here and I love 'em! I shop 3 sales each season and pick up Pidge's entire wardrobe for the season plus toys and other stuff. I'm usually able to sell some of her clothes and toys as well. I volunteer at the sales to be able to shop early and snag the good stuff.

I usually only bring Pidge to one of the sales. Otherwise I prefer to shop without her. The prices are low enough that I can afford a few mistakes. And since they're not worn they can be resold next year!
