Going to the movies is such a date-night/group activity. Why? After all, you're just lookin' at a screen for two hours! Do you ever go see a movie all by yourself? Is it because you enjoy the alone time? Or perhaps your spouse or kids don't share your taste in movies? I always love the idea of seeing movies alone - projects image of self as independent, confident woman and all that - but I'm just too lazy to do it.

OH MY GOSH YES! It's awesome. I would go once in a blue moon while living in NYC. The first time I did do it I felt weird like everyone was looking at me like "oh poor girl has no friends" but I got over that REAL quick after I enjoyed it so much. It was kind of like having a meal by yourself at a restaurant...which I also LOVE too. Sometimes it's just a cool way to get that me time.

Back when I was stlll single and living in the Philippines I would watch movies by myself and I loved it! My friends thought it was weird of me and I did get a lot of stares from other people just like momof2lovelies mentioned, there was one time a guy just made a rude comment like "how come you're watching a movie all by yourself?" and I didnt even know him!It took a lot for me not to slap his face but I just ignored him. Now that Im married and residing here in the US I would love to experience watching a movie by myself just like before but for some reason, I don't have the time to do while taking care of my 3 yr old it plus my hubby takes me out on a movie date every so often and I actually enjoy it better than having to go out by myself.

I am a Canadian expat living in Guatemala. I am a work at home mom with two kids under two and a freelance writer.
It is not easy, but my husband was recently able to quit his teaching job to stay home and watch the boys while I work and focus on his night career as a musician, his true calling! I call that success. :D

I´ve always enjoyed going to the movies on my own. That way I can relax and just sit back and eat candy and popcorn without having to share!

Single Mom Seeking
A couple of years into single motherhood, I stopped picking up toys -- and started picking up men. Not really; my life is actually quite tame.
My first book was published last year: Single Mom Seeking: Playdates, Blind Dates, and Other Dispatches from the Dating World (Seal Press/Avalon).
When I'm not writing about dating for LifetimeTV.com, I'm writing textbooks for the state of California. Juicy!

This is one of my all-time favorite treats! As Genesis says, I love going to see movies by myself, hogging the popcorn and NOT sharing my root beer.

I'm a career mom with 3 kids ages 5, 8, and 20. I got started young and have worked very hard to achieve a solid career. It's funny, but I find that although younger and single with my first, being married, financially secure, and two kids is much more stressful. I'm looking for some balance and tips from other moms. I'm also interested in mom's that started their own businesses and how you've managed to do it! Or, had you switch careers

There are movies that I'm the only one that would ever see them. I have a passion for chick flicks - particularly anything Reese Witherspoon. It's definitely a disease.
Even if I could get someone to go with me, I actually like being on my own at the theater. I get more immersed in the movie and escape for 100 minutes.

I did for the first time this december. I found time in the afternoon while the girls were at school to see Juno. I felt guilty about it...like I should be using my time more wisely. I love going to the movies and wish I didn't feel like that. But I am on the lookout for the next movie I can sneak off to. It is so hard to find the time.

Heck ya!!! I wish I could do it more. It is a little treat to myself every time I go out of town for business and I don't have a dinner meeting. I always see a movie!! Last time I watched 27 dresses...great chick flick that my husband wouldn't have wanted to see anyway.

I am the co-founder & CEO of Work It, Mom! This is my first stint as a full-time entrepreneur and it's the most thrilling and scary thing I've ever done.
Before launching Work It, Mom! I slaved away in the dark world of venture capital.

I haven't done this in ages -- but the last time I did it, I still remember it. I was living in London and it was a terrible, rainy day. My boss had just yelled at me in front of the whole team and I slipped and fell on the way home. Truly one of those nightmarish days.
I was passing by a movie theater and decided to hide from my misery in there. I got a huge tub of popcorn, candy, and soda and watched some silly romantic comedy. I don't remember the name of the movie, but it was witty and British and I came out of there with my horror day behind me.
Thanks for reminding me -- I'm going to have to find a way to do this again!

I'm a new Mom trying to juggle working at home and having a young baby. In the past year and a half I have gotten married, graduated college, and had a baby. I am trying to build up a business as a spanish/english translator. My husband is a teacher...so we get by, but we could always use more money. I also want to continue to keep my skills sharp, because I know I'm not going to want to stay home forever. I'm interested in making friends and networking with other inspired mamas!

Honestly? I've never even considered going to a movie by myself. It just hasn't ever occurred to me. I had no idea I was missing out.
