I don't know about you ladies, but I LOVED this show when I was a kid. Morgan Freeman as "Easy Reader" -- it doesn't get much better than that. They're remaking it for today's kid:

What do you think? And what other shows would you love to see again?

This is awesome news! It was my favorite show too- I talk about it to my kids all the time, but they could care less. Well, now they'll (hopefully) know what I'm talking about!

Oh wow! How fun! I remember watching this show, too, as a kid back in New Zealand. As a matter of fact, my husband and I got Sesame Street Old School from the local library for our kiddo to watch (it's a several disc set of classic episodes from the early 70s) and we enjoyed watching the promo on there for classic Electric Company dvds. But I digress...

As for your Q, Lylah: I would love to watch all of The Muppets over again!

I adored "The Muppet Show!" Statler and Waldorf, up there in the balcony, saying they'd seen better films left by soap... I still think "The Electric Mayhem" is a BRILLIANT name for a band!

I had a crush on one of the big hairy monsters on The Muppets, which is a kind of weird thing to have a little girl crush on...

I LOVED that show and I loved Morgan Freeman. I hope that they will do it justice. The Muppet Show was soooo funny. A friend and I went to see the Muppet Show Live when it came to town - we were both in high school at the time. LOL

I'm going to be the party pooper here. While I'm glad that today's kids will have an updated version of EC, I'm probably not going to like it much. I know, I know: I'm not the audience. But I remember when they remade "Zoom." Didn't think it was anywhere near as good as the original. And I really don't care much for the last couple of decades of Sesame St. I guess I feel the original cast for all those shows (esp EC & SS) were just so UNBELIEVABLY good, talented, hysterical... that it's an awfully high bar for the new show. ....Okay, you can throw the rotten tomatoes at me now. LOL Seriously, I adore the old show and remember it well. Would love to recount favorite moments with anyone. Moreno could read the weather report and it would probably make me break out in a grin. - Paula.

I realize I could buy some vintage EC (or SS or Muppets or...) DVD set, and I might do that some time. But I also find some favorite clips on YouTube (usually not the greatest quality recordings, and I assume not totally legal that they're on there since it's probably, uh, copyrighted material). One of my all-time faves is from SS, "Imagining Shapes." Anyone remember this? "Do you know what a square is?" "I know *who* a square is!" Great stuff.
