I'm a new Mom trying to juggle working at home and having a young baby. In the past year and a half I have gotten married, graduated college, and had a baby. I am trying to build up a business as a spanish/english translator. My husband is a teacher...so we get by, but we could always use more money. I also want to continue to keep my skills sharp, because I know I'm not going to want to stay home forever. I'm interested in making friends and networking with other inspired mamas!

I'm sure I'm not the only one that feels this way sometimes. I know that I want to make as little impact on the environment as possible, but sometimes I just mess up. I feel so bad when I get to the grocery store and realize I've left my canvas bags at home, or when I come home and realize that I've left the porch light on all day. Most of the time being green makes me feel really good, but sometimes I feel guilty that I'm not doing more. Anybody else relate?

I lead a busy, fun life. I'm concerned about the environment and education but try to see the beauty and wonder in the ordinary.

You're definitely not the only one. I feel like a work in progress. I, too, sometimes forget my reusable bags and feel bad. I just saw a slide show that a friend emailed me that had pictures of the effects of plastic bags on the environment. It was really sad. If we all do something though, we'll make a difference.

My husband and 2 daughters and I live in the east Tennessee. We are within one hour of the Smokey Mtns, which means we can hike and camp. I love being outdoors. Gardening is a favorite hobby for me.

I think that there are times we all feel that we can and should do more for the environment. I know that when I have the guilt feeling creep up on me, it makes me look for an additional way I can help. You mentioned forgetting your cloth shopping bags. I think that we have all done this one. Keep in mind that you have the cloth bags and use them 95% of the time. That 5% of the time you may forget them helps you to remember the other 95% of the time.

That's very true lynn59. I normally think of parenting guilt as a healthy barometer to let me know when I need to reassess what I'm doing as a parent...I don't know why I never thought of green guilt the same way.
JC, I don't know if it's the same one, but I have definitely seen a slideshow on that. And yes, it was extremely sad. *sigh* I will remember my bags, I will remember my bags.

I love being a mom. This wasn't always the case, but now I love it so much, that I'm home as much as possible. I have recently started working from home successfully, and it has been a great experience so far. I was just married to my wonderful husband and best friend, Mark November 10, 2007. I am a Christian, and I'm proud of it. That hasn't always been the case. Like anyone, I have alot to learn about life, and I am excited to be able to meet other moms.

I don't always use my reusable bags, either. I am, however, very big on recycling and making sure that I purchase products with recyclable containers. I also use environmentally friendly household products that work amazingly well. We are all healthier than we've ever been in my house, and hopefully, we are making an impact on the earth as well. Just remember, we are all examples as long as we are doing the best we can. I know there are alot of things I don't do perfectly environmentally responsible, but I do my best. I feel pretty good about my efforts, and all of you should, too!
