I have a sneaking suspicion that if my parents were asked what line of work their daughter is in they wouldn't really know how to answer. I mean they know it's sort of writing-internet-stuff. Specifically? I think they have no idea. What about you and your parents?

Okay, I was just about to log off and go get some work done (argh), when I saw this. I had to laugh. My mom totally gets what I do, but after all these years, my MIL doesn't seem to. I'm either out in the field working or working at home.

When she calls and catches me at home, she invariably says, "Oh, you're not working today?"

To which I reply, "Well, I'm working at home."

We've been having this conversation for 20 years now. Oh, well. What are you going to do?

(We've never even bothered to tell her about our website. That would just be too much )

My MIL has no idea what I do or have done. My parents on the other hand know quite well. In fact, I HIRED my dad this last September and it has been fabulous.

My parents knew I worked for that book store company. They never knew what it was I did, even after I tried to explain it. My In-Laws actually understand a bit more.
It makes me laugh.
