  • Hi, One of the best ways to promote a blog is to get featured, become a contributing author linking to your site!

I am an internet marketing consultant. Why don't you message me and I can see what pointers I can share.

  • Commenting on other blogs, writing guest posts and articles and being active in networks like this one all help promote your blogs and websites. Also, I´d suggest getting your URLs into some directories. It might not seem like a big deal, but it can definitely help you gain some links.

Another good idea is to make sure that you are using your keywords on your website and throughout your blog. That helps get it up there in the search engines, which in turn will help with traffic.

    Good luck!

  • Patricia and Genesis gave some great pointers that I will try to use myself.

I prefer WIM over Cafemom.com anyday. I find WIM to be an honest to goodness support system for moms in business in all aspects of their lives.

  • I am new to the networking & blogging thing altogether. I feel overwhelmed at times. Any suggestions as were to start? Since the kids are home for the summer my time is limited, so I want ideas that can help me to get the most out of what I am doing.

    Thanks in advance for suggestions.

  • I launched my site in December, began selling in January and traffic is picking up steadily. It requires a great deal of commitment and participation in the online communities you join. I am involved with a number of groups, but hold myself to visiting each site every couple of days to read blogs, boards and messages and at least answer one to stay in the loop. It is not as easy as some people may think, but it is nice to work from home in your pj's at 3am (like right now...lol)

I have met some great women through my online networking. We are so fortunate to have this technology available to us. Just think, women didn't have this 20 years ago.

Any case, I suggest the following sites...hybridmom.com, divapreneur.com, businessopportunitiesweblog.com and WIM. I am sure I am missing one or two, but these are the ones who have been most supportive in my success.

Also, register your site on Alexa.com, download the toolbar and pay attention to where sites are ranked and your ranking. It is just a measuring tool for you to know who might be a new site or a popular site.

Best of luck & keep us posted...

  • Angelice,

I say that just putting a link to your site on all of your correspondence can help tremendously. I clicked on your link below your name and I am now forwarding it to all my friends who have multiples...believe it or not about 11 of them...ha ha

    Great site by the way!

  • momof2 I completely agree. CafeMom is not as good of a networking site as this. I joined that in hopes of finding local moms to hang out with, but I rarely participate in any discussions over there.

I try to be a frequent commenter on larger known sites and participate in blog parties and carnivals. That usually sends you a surge of people and then the ones that really liked your blog will keep coming back.

  • Angela,

Thanks for the support and referrals. Yes, you are right a simple link in all messages posted does not hurt. It is not tacky selling, just a way to be contacted and branding yourself.

I hope you'll visit again. I'm always updating it with new designs and information.
