What's a book bag?

Ok, So I've checked out the school supply list and found out that my daughter cannot have a backpack- she is suppose to have a book bag. Anybody know what a book bag is - I searched via the web and the search results came back with links to buy a backpack

A book bag is a smallish, double-handled canvas tote bag, about the right size to hold a folder and some papers. . .at least that's what it means in my neck of the woods. You can probably find one at Hobby Lobby or something. Our preschool provides them, so I don't know for sure where to buy.
The reason for the request for a bookbag, not a backpack is that the small kids can't always put on the backpack by themselves, and the teacher can't help 20 kids put them on every day.
