  • The other night I was running late and needed a quick way to feed my family before dinner. I had everything for tacos but no meat thawed out, so i swung into the store and got a $5.00 deli chicken. Boned and tossed with my taco mixn's and done! It was also cheaper to buy a pre cooked whole bird than frozed chicken breast! Had to share :)

  • My son wouldnt pee or poop in the potty. One day I got him to sit down and he wanted to get right up until he saw a magazine that his dad had left on the floor. I showed him the pics - it was a nature magazine - and guess what? He pooped! The next day I did the same thing and he peed! So, I would suggest showing them pics while on the potty for those starting out because it may distract from the fact that they are sitting on a potty.

  • I remember more than a few times calling my mom and being so upset because I couldn't get my daughter to clean her room...it was like she was sitting on my last nerve.. My mother said 'Pick your battles'. I was driving and wanted to throw the phone out the window! That's it? That's the 'talk me down from the ledge' response from my mom? Then she continued, "Is this really the issue you want to get so upset about?" In the 'big picture', a messy room is a 2 on a scale of 1-10. I hear her voice all the time 'Pick your battles'...and it calms me down. I always ask myself is it worth getting so bent out of shape about? or probably not. Moms...pick your battles! Melissa :)

  • I was in a car accident a while ago, and I used my cell phone to snap pictures of the scene, including close-ups of the damage, both cars' license plates, and the position of the vehicles in the road. It was a lifesaver when it came to filing the claim with my insurance company, as the other driver got his friends to move his vehicle out of the area and remove some of the damaged parts of his car within aabout 30 minutes, leaving only the pictures on my camera as proof that he was at fault!

  • I work from home one day per week. It allows me to have some quiet time alone in the house, and I make sure to schedule little breaks for myself throughout the day.

  • Every year I always leave making the goody bags for my son and daughter's party until the last minute. This year I found a true time saver! I purchased my favors from www.JLPartyFavors.com!

  • As soon as I get to work each day, I write a to-do list. It helps me stay on track, and crossing things off makes me feel great.

  • My lifesaver is something easy because it's something that you have to do anyways. I'm a big fan of cooking and love finding new recipes so whenever I can I try to whip up a new recipe for the family for dinner (I try to go for budget friendly recipes). It's fun because I get have feedback from my taste testers and if it's a recipe I found online I can go back to the website and rate or tell what ingredients I switched out to make it more likeable for my family.

  • I try to not check email as the first thing I do in the morning -- it's a huge time suck.
