According to a new Pew Research Center study, 60% of moms who work would prefer to work part time. This number is up 12% from 1987.
The bad news is that, according to labor statistics, only 24% of working moms have part-time hours.
These findings aren't really surprising; as moms, we want to do both - work and spend time with our families. Doing this with a demanding full-time job is extremely difficult. An interesting bit from the article mentions a similar study conducted by another organization, that found that Generation X moms are much more focused on spending time with their families and having a more balanced lifestyle than boomers.
