I am passionate about a lot of things, and moms being able to stay home with their kids if that's what they want is one of them. Moms not getting "taken" by unscrupulous online "opportunities" is another.

I have been a part of a number of businesses and business models. Some were great, some not so much. However, each experience has taught me something and has moved me through the world to the place I am today. In a great business, home with my daughter, making money -- and feeling good.

This is my must-have list when looking for a work-from-home business. This list is specific to a business -- not simply a work-from-home job.

1.) Affordablity. It must be affordable, not only for me, but for any other mother who might want to make this business her career as well.

2.) Support. Having support available, not only from the company, but also from the person you joined with, or the team you are involved with, is imperative.

3.) Stacked income. Being able to do one thing and have it make money for me over and over and over again is what allows me to play at the park in the afternoons and not slave over my computer.

4.) Quality products. Whether the company sells digital information products or has real world products, make sure they are quality. You are staking your reputation on the products you promote.

5.) Longevity. This is a big one for me. I would make sure the company has been around for awhile, and has a strong footing as a business. I once joined a business only to have them close their doors a month or so later!

Those are my top five must-haves in a business. If it has these five things, then the business you've found something that has a potential for success.  The rest is up to you.
