The Dangers of Leaving Your Child Alone in a Car

4.) Keep a stuffed animal or child's toy etc in the car seat. When you buckle your child in, move the toy up front, next to the driver's seat, as a reminder. I always place my purse in the back seat with my child as a reminder to check there.

5.) Always look in the back seat before you get out of the car, even when you are not the one responsible for transporting the children.

6.) Ask your daycare of childcare provider to call you if you haven't alerted them to your child's absence. Tell them to keep calling, both parents, on all phone numbers, until they reach someone.

No matter the age of your child, always play it smart when it comes to the health and safety of your most prized posession. And never leave a child unattended in a vehicle -- ever!
