8. Use products and methods of cleaning with natural, non-toxic, biodegradable ingredients. So much can be done with baking soda, vinegar, and lemon juice. Petroleum-based cleaners deplete natural resources and destruction of precious land and water environments.
It is tempting to think that one person cannot make a difference, but if we demonstrate ways to lessen our impact on nature to our families and friends, then we are training future caretakers. We are creating conscientious adults who will understand their duties to the earth and to one another.

I would add:
• Start a vegetable garden, get everybody involved, and have fun with it!
• Buy seasonal and local
• Cook more and get more creative in the kitchen. Get your grandma recipes out.
• Take your closet to a green inspection, find out what you can recycle, restyle, and how you can move toward the “slow fashion” movement.
