The Youngest Child Syndrome

"Me too!" is a common phrase for Little Miss Independent

Where this will take her as she grows older, I don’t know. There will be many times where she is just plain “too little” or “too young” yet, and she’s going to have to learn to accept that. Gracefully, I hope. Because while screaming "me too!" at the top of her lungs with tears pouring down her face may be (at least somewhat) acceptable for a 2-year-old who is just learning how to communicate, I’m thinking that it’ll be much less so when she’s 12.

  • We only have two girls, but our youngest is alot like yours. I often call her "Little Miss Me Too" and "The Echo" (because she either repeats everything her older sister says or she has to repeat herself many times to get noticed) And she's definitely way ahead of where her old sister in may ways -- potty training, swimming, etc. Unfortunately, that "Me too!" eventually turns into a plaintiff, "It's no fair!" accompanied by crossed arms and a pathetic pout.
