Is there a “mommy penalty” in the workplace? A recent government report found that women with children under the age of 18 earn less than women without minor children. According to the study, women with children under 18 have a median weekly earning of $680, as compared to $697 for women without children under 18. On the flip side, men with children under the age of 18 make more than their childless counterparts.
