4.) Ask someone. They say we’re only seven degrees removed, so you’re bound to know someone who is IN the know. Ask your current coworkers, your family, or your friends if they know someone who works there. Don’t be afraid to pass your number along so you can get the real scoop based on an insider’s point of view.

  • This is great advice. I so agree that the job interview is very much a two-way street. Candidates should definitely aim for a conversation and a personal connection, rather than expecting to recite stock answers to a list of questions. And it's always a good idea to come prepared with a list of talking points.
