My current boss is a man, and I enjoy working for him because, for the most part, he "gets it" regarding keeping a staff engaged with their work, the importance of empowerment, building morale, keeping good people, and the balancing act. As a supervisor, I strive to be a boss that "gets it" too, although I'm sure I fall short at times. To me, this is a far more important consideration regarding who you'd want to work for than whether it's a woman or a man; but if women want to be rated higher in surveys like this, we may need to put some more effort into becoming the kind of bosses that "get it" - that is, the kind that are good leaders and good managers.
