It wasn't until we were almost home that the baby woke up and let out a little sound. You should have seen Casey's face! She thought, "he's finally here." The hospital gave us a little hat that the baby wore and we let Casey smell it to get his scent. We were told that it is important to do that and then bring them in to the house together.
We wondered what would happen next. Well, every time the baby cried, Casey was right there next to him as if she was protecting him. When he woke up in the middle of the night, she would bark to let us know. Everyone said, "Don't let her be too close!" but she loved him from the minute she laid eyes on him and it is the cutest thing to watch. He didn't acknowledge her in the beginning and all she wanted was his attetnion. Now, seven months later, he loves her and is after her all the time and all she wants is some peace and quiet.
