  • I'm with you on the weeknight dinners--much better with kids, and they seem to feel like they're doing something extraordinary by going out on a school night. I like to do Sunday meals too-I shop Saturday night (yup, some social life) or early Sunday before church gets out. I try to cook one for Sunday and at least one other 'two meal' meal. It's sooo nice to come home with a meal ready

  • I agree too. Restaurants tend to be less crowded on weeknights, and cooking is more enjoyable on weekends when you're not rushed and/or tired from the long workday. And if you feel up to cooking a few meals at once and then freezing them, you can probably have at least one or two more nights during the week you won't have to cook OR go out.

  • I don't think I could agree with you more. We do the same thing - if we get takeout, we do it on a week day. That way it frees up that night from cooking, creates less hassle, and leaves time to cook as a fun activity on weekends.

  • yes, week nights are the BEST time to dine out with the little one! our son is 15 months and actually very good when eating out since there is SO MUCH to look at and entertain him! and he is required to be strapped into his high chair at all times. that helps A LOT! plus, i dont know WHY but he always eats a lot more food when we go out than when we are at home... is my cooking really that bad? lol!
