Riding the bus makes a person plan a schedule. Walking makes a person decide if buying a new boots is important enough to plan a trip and use an hour of the day. Quite by accident, the bus has not only saved gas money, it’s saved hundreds (thousands?) of dollars.
In conclusion, I’m officially a walker, bus-rider by choice, and car-driver by necessity. If at all possible I will walk, ride or bike and only take the car when it’s unavoidable. Ironically, this is how my husband lives his life – understated and not starved for attention; he didn’t have to spend 30 days writing to the world about what he does without a thought.
