The deeper we sink in self-doubt the harder it is to act. It helps to put a "self-doubt first aid kit" together. Here are some suggestions; feel free to add what works for you.
- Begin by acknowledging that when you want something different for your life or career, doubt and fear will show up.
- Pay attention to the voices in your head and how they affect your ability to act.
- Reflect on your experience.
- Replace limiting beliefs and messages with positive, empowering affirmations.
- Stand up for what you want.
- Decide what you will do if old, unproductive habits begin to settle in.
- Write down your success strategy and keep it where you can see it.
- Try something different. Be creative.
- Choose your support system wisely. When you are in your moment of self-doubt and you look outside for support, the person whose attitude reinforces your self-doubt is not the person to go to.
- Stay in present time and do what is asked of you in the moment.
- Be your best friend and not your worst critic.
