.) Delegate easy but time-consuming chores to your children. My kids love to help. They get a lot of praise and thanks when they do, so they enjoy it. They take care of things like folding towels, picking up their toys downstairs, setting and clearing the table, making their beds and taking out the trash.
.) Take advantage of quiet times when children are napping or playing quietly. I take advantage of various times during the day when my kids are playing together. This gives me extra time to work. I spend time with them after school, then they go off and play. I go off and work a little more. If your kids are smaller, try to work while they play near you.
.) Hire a mother’s helper to entertain your children while you work on your goals. Having someone else entertain your children will cut down on distractions to help you concentrate on the important things that you need to reach your goals. Let your children know you will spend time with them after the mother’s helper goes home.
.) Enlist your husband to help when he is home. My husband is great at letting me work an hour here and there to complete a task. He’ll play with the kids or get them ready for bed. This helps me tremendously, and it also gives the kids a chance to bond with Daddy.
If you change just one of these habits each month, you will be well on your way to realizing your own dreams sooner than you think.
