We all lead busy lives. As a working mother, it certainly isn’t easy to manage your ambitious self and your family all at the same time. My friend Sarah Leah Gootnick, founder of Secretary In Israel LLC and an author of The Ultimate Small Business Owner’s Resource Guide, and her business partner, Shoshi Ross, recommend these seven efficiency tips to help you save time and money.

1.) Archive old emails. Clear up your inbox and take away those emails you no longer need. Make sure to keep your inbox as empty as possible.

2.) Fax from your computer, rather than having a real fax machine where you will most likely have to print the document to fax it. Use a service such as faxaway.com or ringcentral.com and be able to fax from your email. It’s very easy and saves you loads of time!

3.) Text from your email. If you would like to send a text message to someone without the time of actually writing out the message, you could write a short email and send it as an SMS message to any phone! Get instructions at Makeuseof.com.

4.) Have your voicemail messages transcribed. Rather than spending the time to listen to all of your voicemails and then take notes, have your messages transcribed and sent to you as a text message or an email. Three companies that do this are Ureach.com, Phonetag, and YouMail.

5.) Use a template for contracts. Since you most likely use several contracts, make a template and leave blanks for the clients to fill in their name, date, business, and any other personal information.

6.) Keep a scanned copy of your signature handy. Make sure you have a scanned copy of your signature on your computer for any documents that you need to send.

7.) Outsource or delegate your administrative tasks.  Don’t spend time doing administrative tasks when you could better spend your time with clients. Outsource or delegate those administrative tasks that take a lot of your time!
