7.) Start a grass roots effort in your city to ban the use of plastic bags in stores. This has already been done in San Francisco and Fairfax, California.
8.) Pack a waste-free lunch for your children. Do not contribute to the 67 pounds of lunch-time trash your child creates at school this year. Save money and forego buying plastic baggies, paper napkins and the individually wrapped foods. Pack all lunches in reusable containers -- check out Kids Konserve to get started, www.kidskonserve.com.
9.) Make this holiday season as plastic free as possible by making conscious purchases! It may seem difficult at first but it does get easier we promise!
