5.) YOU. When setting up social media profiles and the “About Me” page on your Web site be careful of the pictures you use. While you don’t need to use a professional photo, you do want a nice picture that reflects you and will make people want to connect with you. If you choose to use a picture of you and your kids thats fine, but make sure you put on a little makeup and there are no cheerios in your hair. Use a picture that is flattering, that makes someone feel confident that you can get the job done.

It can be challenging some days, but when you take a business call, don’t have the kids screaming in the background. Take your business seriously so others will too.

I know you are thinking you are just starting out and money is tight. I’ve been there. But these few things will help your future clients to take you seriously. If they don’t take you seriously, will they choose your business when there are thousands of others to choose from?
