When selecting a Virtual Assistant it is important to try and discover how they can benefit your business. To do this, prepare a list of questions you feel is important about their qualifications, past experience, what their ideal client is and how they would see a working relationship working between yourselves. Remember, how much they charge is usually indicative of how qualified and experienced they are. Don’t be afraid to ask these questions as they are important in the process of selecting your Virtual Assistant.
Next, request an information package or read the website of a couple of VA’s. Client testimonials are usually insightful into how that particular Virtual Assistant manages their business and services their client’s.
Call and discuss your requirements with a number of Virtual Assistants to get a feel for who you could work best with and request a service proposal. This proposal should detail how they see the relationship working, what they charge, what are their payment terms and whether or not you both are on the same path with your project.
To begin with, why not give your Virtual Assistant a small project to complete. This would be an excellent indicator of what they are like to work with and whether or not the partnership between the two of you is going to work out. This would be a perfect time to ‘screen’ your Virtual Assistant and determine how they fit your business.
And finally, don’t be afraid to communicate with your Virtual Assistant. Ask questions and remember they are here to assist you and your business.
If things don’t work out, that’s ok. Not everyone will find a Virtual Assistant they work well with the first time but the benefits in outsourcing far outweigh the cost of doing it all yourself. After all, with the extra time in your week, what could you be doing to build your business? What income are you missing out on?
