Great Deal: Popchips Perfect for Lunchboxes

Categories: Food and Cooking, Great Deal

People often ask me why I don’t belong to a warehouse club, given my love of a good bargain. My answer is always the same: I can get the same or better deals by shopping the specials at Amazon, and they’re delivered to me free, to boot! (The only thing I like better than a deal is a lazy deal.)

Like this: Right now Amazon has 24-packs of Popchips marked nearly half off. Apply coupon code JANUPOPS for another 20% off, plus buy via Subscribe & Save for an additional 15% off and free shipping. These are all-natural, low-fat, lunchbox-friendly snack packs, and after you stack all the savings, they come to about $.36/bag. That’s cheaper than the “snacks” that aren’t actually food.

Warehouse, schmarehouse. I’ll get my great deals on groceries at Amazon.

Cooking: Le Creuset Dutch Oven

I am a woman who loves to cook and to bake and to eat. I like to try new recipes and to share the recipes that I love with others. I have a pretty heavy arsenal of cookware, but despite having recipes that call for a Dutch Oven, I’ve always “made do” with the pots that I have. I’ve decided that this is the year I do not “make do” if there’s something I really want/need (within reason) and one of my wants/needs is a Le Creuset (red) Dutch Oven. Luckily for me, it’s on sale at Amazon.

Food and cooking: Tassimo T20 coffee maker

Full disclosure here: I was given a Tassimo T20 brewing system to review on my personal site. HOWEVER. I had been seeing them around and reading reviews on them before I was contacted and after having used it, I can honestly say that I would likely either have bought one or asked for one for my birthday (later this month!). I always make a to go mug of instant coffee for my daily commute and this brewer makes it even easier to do so.

Everybody’s heard of Groupon, by now, but maybe you’ve grown tired of checking to see if there’s anything good happening there on a given day. Well, today there is: The Pittsburgh Groupon for today is $45 for $90 worth of wine from MyWinesDirect.com; that’s six bottles of quality wine, delivered to your door, for just $45. (Please note: Check the delivery map before you purchase! Some states prohibit the delivery of alcohol.)

Choose from all white, all red, or a mix. It’s not that we’re not generally happy with two buck chuck, but this is a great way to get a great deal on something a little nicer.

Kid Stuff: Snack Happened Reusable Snack Pouch

Every day when I pack my daughter’s lunch I also give her a snack. Fruit goes into a plastic container that I’d bought last year but things like pretzels or animal crackers (her faves) I put in a small plastic bag, which sometimes comes back and sometimes doesn’t. This feels wasteful so I went looking for a reusable snack container and found this ultra cute and useful Snack Happened pouch. It’s washable and comes in tons of colors.
