Great Deal: PowerCapes for everyone!

You know there’s little I like more than a great deal on something the kids are going to totally love, and so a price break on PowerCapes fits that bill nicely. Right now at Mamasource Deals you can snag a $40 voucher to PowerCapes for just $20.

Choose from three different cape sizes, customize by color, design, even logos and/or initials. Go whole hog with the coordinating shirt, wrist cuffs, and mask, or just do the cape. The possibilities are nearly endless.

What kid doesn’t love being a superhero? And what parent wouldn’t love to make it happen for half price? That’s a great deal!

Lego advent calendars

Every year, I tell myself that I will do something creative for an advent calendar and every year, I find myself on November 30th buying those cardboard/plastic advent calendars filled with cheap chocolate treats.

A friend was telling us how he is a huge Lego fan and how his wife bought him a Lego set for their first Christmas together. He then told me that there is a Lego advent calendar. A LEGO ADVENT CALENDAR. My two dudes are nuts about Lego and, oh. They are going to be so excited about these.

Kid Stuff: Detangler

Detangler may not be what you envision when you think about a luxury, but if you have a daughter with long, curly hair, you may see where I’m headed. I would spritz her hair with water and try to comb out the knots as gently as I could and I would still be met with winces and cried of OW! I don’t know why it took me so long to remember detangler, but I finally did.

I bought some last weekend and it’s the BEST THING EVER. Well, it’s the best thing when dealing with long, tangled hair.

Our family loves to play board games and my eldest child has recently taken up interest in chess. We have the generic board but Christmas/his birthday will be here before we know it and his other favorite games are anything Mario related, so this will blow his mind.

Kids’ stuff: Umbrellas

I live in a desert climate, which means that it rarely rains (we’re on water restrictions for much of the year). This morning, however, was cool and rainy and my baby girl looked at me with her big blue eyes and asked if we could buy her an umbrella. Now that she’s in school full-time and takes the bus to school and back with her broothers, it might be time to invest in one for those few days a year when we do get rain. She picked out a Hello Kitty backpack for this school year, so I think she’ll love this matching umbrella.

Kid stuff: ABC’s book for kids

Brenda Ponnay (aka Secret Agent Josephine) may be a friend of mine, but bias aside, her book is fabulous. I bought the flash cards she created back when my youngest was a toddler and they are so great. The book is a great way for your kids to learn their ABC’s and for you to enjoy her humor and artistry.
