I’ve been looking for an alternative to the chalk board we have hanging in our kitchen (it’s handy, but messy) and when I saw this dry erase board from CB2 I feel in like with it immediately. It’s made of bamboo, is eco-friendly, wipes off easily and can hang either vertically or horizontally. Our house is full of wood (floors, wainscoting, etc.) and it will fit in perfectly with our decor. It’s on my “to buy” list, for sure.

I’m a huge, huge fan of Knock Knock products because they infuse the mundane with some necessary humor. But they’re also quite useful, like this All Out Of pad, which will help you keep track of household things you need to pick up at the store.

How many drawers in your house are filled with cords? Sadly, I know the answer to this: For us it’s three. Yes, that’s three drawers filled with who-knows-what-they-are-for cords, which my husband claims are all essential to our survival. Well, with this 2-sided pouch we’ll just have to see. It makes it easy to organize all the cords and keep them with the right label, so when your husband claims that the camera cord must be there somewhere, all you have to do is look in the pouch.

One might not think that a family planner is a “luxury” but if you’re a Type A personality like I am, it kind of is. I was turned on to the Polestar Family Calendar by a friend four years ago and I sing its praises to anyone who will listen. There are different columns for Family Appointments and Meals/Kitchen and Home and To Do and To Buy lists and SO MUCH MORE. I have a Google calendar that syncs to my iPhone for deadlines but I still love the Polestar in all of its papery organization. There’s something inherently satisfying about using a pen to write down tasks and then cross them out.

Technology: Driinn cell phone charger shelf
Categories: General, Mom's Must Haves, Organized Living, Technology, Travel Gear, Work Happy
This isn’t techonology, per se, but it’s for holding something technological, so it counts, in my book. The
Driin cell phone charger shelf hooks over your power cord once it’s been plugged into an electrical outlet; the slim shelf holds both your phone and the excess cord, keeping your counter or desktop neat and tidy (and your phone easily accessible). Made in Italy, it comes in seven colors, from stark white to basic black to bright pink, and it’s low price makes it an excellent stocking stuffer for working moms everywhere.

I love the whimsical look of this magnetic board for almost any office or kitchen. Why go with the traditional gray square when you could add a bright color and fun shape to your space?

I’ve tried, for years, to get control of the make-up and skin care product mess in my bathroom and I think I finally got it with this awesomely useful organizer. It’s got a spot for all my lipsticks, mascaras, and eye pencils and several small shelves where I can put eye shadows and concealers. It’s clear so it’s easy to see what’s where. Sometimes the simplest things just work.

As much as I love technology, I find that nothing works better as a reminder than writing something down in a place where I am likely to see it often — like a message board. I like this bamboo message board for its style and usefulness, and I think it can look great in a kitchen, a hallway or even an office.

Moms Must Haves: Auto detail paint pens
Categories: General, Mom's Must Haves, Organized Living, Technology
When was the last time you took a close look at your car’s paint job? Probably right after you noticed yet another scratch, scrape, or ding. These paint pens precisely match your car’s color because each one is made especially for your car; you send in the make, year, model, and the manufacturer’s paint code (usually found under the hood or on the door jam) and the company sends you a custom-mixed paint pen filled with the same durable enamel automakers use. Next time you see a scratch, fixing it will beĀ easier than touching up your mani-pedi.

A friend in New York pulled out this fabulous wallet recently and I had to go find it online. Besides the fact that it looks fabulous (and your wallet should, don’t you think?), it’s got just the right number and type of compartments to hold all your stuff.
