My husband (He who listens to the radio far more than I do) brought up another topic that was on our local station. They had talked about the fact that a celebrity practiced “naked Sundays” with her family and wanted to know if their listeners did something similar. I (of course) Googled it to see which celebrity it was and it is Miss Christina Aguilera. She and her husband spend Sundays naked and have continued doing so since they had their son.

Do we practice a day of nakedness around here?

I’m actually pretty comfortable in my body (I work out six days a week and eat well) and my husband is hot but no, we do not.

Before we had kids I had no problem walking naked, say, to the laundry room in order to fetch something I wanted to wear, but to spend all day in the buff is nothing I’ve ever really wanted to do. It’s not a body issue thing, it’s a comfort thing. Do I want to sit on a leather chair on a hot summer day while in the buff? Not so much. Do I want splatter from making dinner to hit me somewhere sensitive? No thank you.

We also have kids that are school age. Do I want my seven-year-old to be haunted by visions of his Mom’s post-breastfeeding boobs? I love him too much to let that happen. Throw in the fact that my twenty-year-old brother lives with us and there is no way in hell that I am naked anywhere but in the privacy of my bedroom.
