Committed: The Ties that Bond
with Angella Dykstra
I'm a mom of three, a professional accountant, and an amateur photographer and writer. I am not a marriage expert. But my husband and I take "Til death do us part" seriously, and here I'll be sharing how we keep our marriage strong while we both do that insane work-life juggle.

Unless you’ve spent the past few weeks living under a rock or on a media diet, you probably know that Prince William and Kate Middleton got married today.
(Side note: Have you seen this royal wedding spoof commercial? I love it.)
I live on the West Coast, and have to work all day Friday, so staying up all night simply isn’t an option. Besides - we now live in the land of the DVR. I set it to record in the middle of the night and will plop myself (and my Princess-loving daughter) in front of the TV after dinner tonight and take it in. Probably not all of it but the ceremony, for sure.
How about you guys? Did you (or will you) watch the royal wedding? Or could you care less?

I watched it all. Living on the west coast made it a bit difficult, since I only got about 3-4 hrs of sleep last night, but it was SO worth it! I don’t have a DVR, and didn’t want to wait until tonight to watch the inevitable replay on one of the channels. It was a beautiful fairytale wedding, and I loved every minute of it.

I didn’t watch it from the start of the coverage since I would have needed to get up at 3 am. I figured I didn’t need to see all the guests, most of whom I wouldn’t have been able to identify anyway.
I did, however, set my alarm for 5 am (uggggh) which woke me up in time to see William and Harry setting out from Buckingham Palace and I watched it right up until the end of the wedding ceremony - it was LOVELY. It really was.
After that I had to get my big girl off to school but I was back in front of the tv in plenty of time to catch the balcony kisses. I absolutely loved all of it.

I live under a rock. I didn’t know until now that the wedding was today.

I am watching it now, online! Rob & I went out last night to celebrate our 12th wedding anniversary (which is tomorrow). When we got home, the wedding was on, but we had, er, OTHER things in mind!
I’m enjoying watching it now while my boys are at soccer. Her dress was so beautiful!

I watched a taped version last evening, with my daughters. I figured they (4-year-olds who like being called “my princess,”) would enjoy it. We only watched the ceremony.
I don’t know whether there was any outlet to see the ceremony without a bunch of commentary. The one we taped had commentary that actually blocked out part of the ceremony. Do I really care what some American journalist thinks about who’s wearing what? Am I the only one bugged by that?

I am a total geek and took the day off to watch it all with my mother. It is a tradition that we have and for a few years we had to do it by phone so I took the opportunity to take my 4 yr old to grandma’s to watch. It started with my mother getting up with her mother as a child to listen to Princess Elizabeth marry Prince Philip on the radio, watched the coronation on TV with her parents and grandparents. I had watched parts of Princess Anne’s, all of Charles and Diana’s and Charles second marriage to Camilla with my mom along with parts of the Silver and Golden Jubilees that were televised. I also watched Andrew and Sarah and Edward and Sophie while chatting with my mom on the phone. As of the commentary - ABC at least quoted Winston Churchill so that wasn’t bad.
