with Angella Dykstra
I'm a mom of three, a professional accountant, and an amateur photographer and writer. I am not a marriage expert. But my husband and I take "Til death do us part" seriously, and here I'll be sharing how we keep our marriage strong while we both do that insane work-life juggle.

It’s my birthday today (Yay!) and I am all about celebrating my birthday. (My age, not so much.) There are plans for a nice dinner out tonight with my husband and two of our best friends. Tomorrow night will see a dozen or so of my best girls descending upon my house with wine and appetizers, for a great night of wine tasting and talking and gut-busting laughter.
Birthdays are kind of a huge deal for me (It’s my day!) and while presents are nice, I really just want to spend time with the ones I love, whether it’s my husband or my girls. And when it’s the birthday of someone I love, I will do all that I can to make it a GREAT day, be it a thoughtful present or spending time, or a written note.
How do you celebrate your birthday?

My birthday is on Valentine’s Day, so it’s incredibly difficult to try and go out to dinner on my birthday. I turned 30 in 2011, so some of my friends planned a fun outing to a local go-kart place with me. Unfortunately, the ice-pocalypse hit Dallas the same weekend my party was planned, so we had to cancel. Now it’s a year later and we’re living in Oregon - I have no idea how to celebrate 31!

I hope your birthday was wonderful!
Mine is different every year. I think my favorites also include lots of people, lots of food, and a glass (or three) of wine. Or a martini.

I plan a day of spoiling myself! Sometimes that’s with others, sometimes it’s not. I love to start it by going out to a nice breakfast with a good book. Sometimes a pedi or massage is on the agenda. I LOVE getting my haircut on my birthday! Usually the evening is spent over dinner with the hubby either in or out.
Anything that happens in the MONTH of June is also considered part of my birthday celebrations
For 30 a bunch of friends spent the day at a state park and camped at a site you had to canoe across the river to get to. It was awesome!
