Committed: The Ties that Bond
with Angella Dykstra
I'm a mom of three, a professional accountant, and an amateur photographer and writer. I am not a marriage expert. But my husband and I take "Til death do us part" seriously, and here I'll be sharing how we keep our marriage strong while we both do that insane work-life juggle.
Check out my Work It, Mom! profile and my blog, Dutch Blitz.

She is so easily mockable, Miss Gwyneth, what with her GOOP advice. It’s hard to take parenting advice from someone who has a nanny/cook/personal trainer.
Especially when she says things like this:
“I have little kids in school. I want to maintain my marriage and my family, so I have to be here when he comes home.”
But she kind of makes sense when it comes to marriage, here.
“I think you do fall in and out of love and you just keep going, and every time you go through a really difficult phase, you rediscover something new and it just gets better. We’ve been married for more than eight years now, and we’re still into it.”
So, that.
I am nothing like I was when I got married twelve years ago, and neither is he. We’ve fought to keep us together and so far, we’re winning. (We’re at a loss in the parenting department, but we’re working on it.)
But we are better than ever, and that comes from putting each other first, as archaic as that may sound.
Have you struggled in your relationship? Have you wanted to walk away? What stopped you?
