I'm a mom of three, a professional accountant, and an amateur photographer and writer. I am not a marriage expert. But my husband and I take "Til death do us part" seriously, and here I'll be sharing how we keep our marriage strong while we both do that insane work-life juggle.
Check out my Work It, Mom! profile and my blog, Dutch Blitz.
My two sons are off at camp for this week (Six nights away from home!) and my husband is at that same camp as a volunteer doing handyman stuff. This is the first time that both boys have been away at camp — or anywhere — without their sister, so I proposed that she and I take a girls’ trip. We hopped in the van and hit the road.
We’re spending the week staying in the big city with grandparents and aunties and cousins and having a great time, just the two of us. It’s the first time that our family has taken separate vacations and I’m sure it won’t be the last. Don’t get me wrong - we would prefer to be all together - but this trip of ours is a lot more fun than staying home while the boys are having a week of adventure.
Have you taken separate vacations?
