Back in the day when I started my personal blog (Seven and a half years ago!), most people in my life didn’t know what a blog even was. My husband got the general concept, but didn’t really pay much attention. Then came Twitter, then Facebook, and then all of the other sites we all waster our time on.

Twitter and Facebook were the big ones for me when I first signed up and my husband just didn’t see the point. Why do you need to use a website to connect with people that you know in real life? They weren’t for him.

Then he got a job working with children and families, and most of his volunteers were on Facebook, especially the teenagers. Send them an email and you may never hear back. Send them a Facebook message and you’d hear back within the hour. He signed up, and predicted the imminent arrival of the End Times.

This past spring, he was at a conference that used Twitter for a lot of the announcements, etc. I was home with the kids and got an email notification that my husband now followed me on Twitter. I was pretty sure that I could hear the four horseman of the Apocalypse in the distance, but I couldn’t be sure.

He doesn’t use Twitter, ever, but he’s pretty active on Facebook. He’s come a long way, baby.
