I don’t know about you guys, but my December went by in a bit of a blur. There was my kids’ school Christmas production, my husband’s work Christmas party, two different parties hosted by friends, and numerous other ‘extra’ activities connected to Christmas. Then there was Christmas Day, where we hosted a big feast. I love planning (and cooking) the big meal and I buzz around for days beforehand and the day of, and then when it’s over, I crash.

My eldest son turns 10 tomorrow (!) and so we’ve planned a surprise party for him up at the tubing park on the ski hill. I’ve got cupcakes in the oven as I type this and goody bags waiting to be made up in my bedroom.

Three days from now is New Year’s Eve and we plan to do what we do every year: Absolutely nothing. Well, we’ll ski that day, and the day after, but we won’t be staying up any later than 10 or 11. We’ll make appetizers and watch a movie with the kids and then turn into bed to make out own fireworks (wink).
