with Angella Dykstra
I'm a mom of three, a professional accountant, and an amateur photographer and writer. I am not a marriage expert. But my husband and I take "Til death do us part" seriously, and here I'll be sharing how we keep our marriage strong while we both do that insane work-life juggle.

I don’t get sick often (that sound you hear is me knocking on wood), and usually only succumb to one doozy of a cold/flu per season. Part of the reason is the healthy lifestyle I lead and the other part of it is the fact that my kids are no longer preschoolers who bring home every germ they encounter.
Even though my husband is as hands-on as Dads come, when I get sick I have a hard time letting him take over “my” jobs around here. He’s working longer hours than I am, and I want to make him a great dinner and help him clean the kitchen so he can sit down for a few minutes before opening his computer to do a bit more work. I can carry on when it’s the common cold we’re dealing with, but I have a nasty cough which kept waking me up last night. I got up to take some cough suppressant thinking it would help, and while the cough subsided, the suppressant made it so that I couldn’t get back to sleep.
I finally managed to fall asleep for an hour at lunch time and that will get me through to bedtime. Based on how I’m feeling right now, I think I’m about ready to let my husband take care of me until my head is clear again.
How about you? Who takes care of you when you’re sick?

When I’m REALLY sick, Noah takes the day off to herd kids. Otherwise, it’s tough luck and I just have to do everything I normally do, but while sick.
