I'm a freelance writer and mother of two working from home, which theoretically means I can set my own schedule so as to best accommodate my family. In reality, "flexible hours" often equals "working too much." Yes, I'm my own boss; no, that doesn't mean life is easy. It's hard to leave the office when you live there. But I love what I do and feel very lucky. And not just because I get paid to work in my pajamas.

I’ve had a few days all to myself while my family is elsewhere, and inbetween working and painting my dining room (the neverending home renovations continue!) I’ve found some great new blogs. Pull up some time to kill and dig in:
My standard line has always been that I married young because I couldn’t stand dating. Reasons why I dumped you reminds me of how much I hated dating, but with more giggling.
When I read this update at Hollow Squirrel I knew I needed to read her regularly—clearly her life is a lot more interesting than mine.

Thanks, Mir. Ahh, I weep for our little girls, too. On the bright side, at least the new Strawberry’s thighs and midriff are conservatively clad, and that’s a good thing, right??
