Shopping blogs: top picks for gift inspiration
Categories: Gifts, Holiday, On the web, Toothsome products (for grownups)
My co-blogger here at Milk & Cookies just wrote a post about favorite places to do online shopping, and today’s post is related: what are your favorite shopping blogs or product review sites? Places you go to find gift ideas — either for other people or, you know, for YOURSELF?
I love shopping/review blogs (so much so that I ran my own until recently); here’s a list of some of my faves, as well as some new-to-me picks recommended by other folks:
Daily Grommet. Daily product discovery where the founders dig up unique stuff for moms/kids and tell you about it via video. Check out Daily Grommet’s cool story here.
Found It. Loved It. A daily dose of unique, lustworthy items from the folks at Divine Caroline.
Fred Flare. A groovy online boutique with a great selection of stylish, oddball products.
Uncommon Goods. “Find anything but ordinary” is their tagline, and that’s right on the money.
Cool Mom Picks. Cool products, cool editing, cool website.
Outblush. Focused mainly on girly fashion-y stuff, Outblush offers up a sweet selection of stylish must-haves.
Fresh Trend. A neat little blog devoted to unique gift ideas.
Mighty Goods. My favorite shopping blog of all, this site is always highlighting stuff I find appealing. You can search by occasion, which is very cool. Note the sister sites, Mighty Junior and Mighty Haus.
Where on the web do you like to find cool gift ideas?

Thanks for noticing us at Daily Grommet. (This is Jules, the blond in the screen shot.) We’re just three weeks old and really eager for feedback on our products and site. I’d be delighted if your readers leave any comments on our site or simply shoot me an email jules@dailygrommet.com with their thoughts. Great lineup too, that you assembled.

OK your last two posts have proven that I am totally boring and don’t shop anywhere interesting. Just took a look through your recommendations above and I can see Mighty Goods is going to be dangerous, very dangerous.

I am in love with Etsy, especially their “search by color” function, which is really helpful when you’re searching for a specific shade of something and you don’t want to slog through 50 pages of “red ring” results.

Thanks so much for including Cool Mom Picks up there with so many of our own favorite sites.
And I totally agree with Pickles&Dimes about etsy - I also like searching locally so that you can try and support artisans in your area.

In the interest of, well, self interest, I would add my own shopping blog, misosouper, to the list.
Jules, I love the Daily Grommet!
Always good to see shopping neighbors collected in one place…thanks
