Baby hats for fall

My nephew was born yesterday, which puts me in the mood to discuss baby stuff. I was mooning over baby clothes and noticed that all the cute HATS are coming in.

Raccoon hat (photo from TheChildrensPlace.com), $7.95. When it came down to the final decision I’d almost certainly get the bear, but it’s nice to have a novel choice!

Owl hat (photo from TheChildrensPlace.com), $8.95. This time I’d choose the owl over the bear.

Critter Ear Hat (photo from OldNavy.com), $5.94. I am fond of ear hats for babies, and this one comes in both pink and blue.

Pumpkin hat (photo from OldNavy.com), $3.94. Pumpkin hats are so perfect for fall: perfect for pumpkin-patch photo opportunities, for trick-or-treating, AND for general daytime cuteness.

Plaid earflap hat (photo from Gymboree.com), $18.95. I had a hat similar to this one for my youngest when he was a baby. It’s one of the few things I instantly paid full-price for rather than waiting a month and getting it on clearance (though, it was from The Children’s Place, so “full-price” was more like $6.99): I tried it on the baby for fun, and I was at the register with it less than 30 seconds later. I think was something about the way the chin strap plumped out the cheeks, contrasting with the straight line across the forehead.

Chick beanie (photo from Crazy8.com), $5.95 on sale for $3.99. (1) Adorable, (2) inexpensive, (3) also comes in bear and panda and skunk, as well as monkey:

Monkey beanie (photo from Crazy8.com), $5.95 on sale for $3.99.

Mouse hat & mittens (photo from BodenUSA.com), $38.00. Awww, mousies!

Zutano Piccadilly cars hat (photo from Amazon.com), $10.00.

Zutano owls hat (photo from Amazon.com), $9.50. I especially like the car and owl caps, because I have Amazon Prime, so I can ship one spontaneously with no shipping cost. It drives me crazy to pay, say, $5 shipping on a $3 hat. Er, even though that would still be less than the $10 hat, now that I think of it.

  • Oh cute! I need a small baby to dress, especially in the zutano ones. My babies never cared for hats. I was robbed of this goodness!

  • These are too freaking cute. However, I am skeptical of the “fall” hat. Scooter has one hat that he wears *maybe* three mornings a year. But the seasons here are:

    It’s almost Summer
    OMG SUMMER
    Summer is fading
    Two weeks of Fall-ish weather.

  • These hats are so cute that I want to buy them ALL even though I have no baby to hat.

(Hat is totally a verb, right?)
