Lands’ End clearance to peruse

I don’t usually focus on one particular shop like this, but Lands’ End is where I happened to be browsing when I saw that there was a deal for $40 off purchases of $100 or more, plus free shipping over $50 (code ILOVELE with pin 3316, through tomorrow night). So I scrambled to make a list of the deals I found, in case you want to get them too. (Lands’ End didn’t ask me to do this, and they’re not giving me anything for it.) (Well, except the order I ordered, which I paid for with money so they will give it to me as per the usual store/customer relationship. But you know what I mean.)

Boys’ 5-pocket corduroy pants (photo from LandsEnd.com): $14.97 down from $29.50; sizes 8, 14, 16, and 16 slim; colors khaki and brown. This whole thing started as a quest for size 16 boy pants, and this is where I found some. Rob already has a pair of these and they look great, so I ordered a couple more pairs.

Nordic Embroidery Flannel Pillowcases, set of 2 (photo from LandsEnd.com): $9.97 down from $39.50; sizes regular and king (king is $14.97 down from $49.50); embroidery colors gold and burgundy. We have a set of cream-colored flannel sheets that are still good but the pillowcases have lost most of their fuzz. These might be the perfect replacements.

DoubleDuty Backpack (photo from LandsEnd.com): $12.99 down from $39.50; nine different colors. I had mixed feelings about this one. On one hand, we don’t NEED any backpacks per se. On the other hand, we WILL need backpacks, and then I will be kicking myself because I didn’t get them when they were $12.99. I bought a red one for Edward and an aqua one for Henry, and now I’m second-guessing and wondering if I should have gotten replacement backpacks for Rob and William too. I also got the monogramming: Lands’ End backpacks must be The Thing in our area, because last year there was a kid at our bus stop and two other kids in his class with William’s identical backpack. Monogramming adds $6, but I’m so glad later when I make myself spring for it.

(If you have a local group that collects school backpacks in the fall for families who can’t afford them, this would be an excellent deal. I wish I’d thought of that before placing my order.)

Smocked Ruffle-Bottom Dress (photo from LandsEnd.com): $11.99 down from $29.50; sizes 2T-4T and 4-16; six colors depending on size. Elizabeth only likes dresses and skirts, so comfy ones that don’t need to be ironed are my constant quest. My favorites were the teal and the fern, but she chose navy.

Pleated Knit Skort (photo from LandsEnd.com): $7.99 down from $19.50; sizes 2T-4T and 4-16; three patterns and three solids. My favorite is the pink floral, but Elizabeth again chose navy. I’m not sure what is with her and navy recently.

Boys’ Washed Cargo Pants (photo from LandsEnd.com): $12.97 down from $34.50; sizes 2T, 4, 4-6 slim, 14, 16, and 18, and husky 8, 12, 14, and 18; colors khaki, light brown, navy, and dark green. More pants for the Rob pants problem.

Hard-sided DoubleDuty Deluxe Lunchbox (photo from LandsEnd.com): $7.99 down from $29.50; five colors. I got this for Elizabeth in magenta (”Wild Rose”), but this would be a good lunchbox for an adult, too. I wonder if it would be a good teacher gift? Maybe put a gift certificate in there for a lunch out, so the teacher can have a day off from brown-bagging (or Wild-Rose-bagging) it?

Ruffleneck Horse Graphic T-shirt (photo from LandsEnd.com): $6.99 down from $16.50; sizes 3T-4T and 5-6x and 16. As if we need more cute little-girl t-shirts around here—but Elizabeth flipped for it. We also bought the pink basset hound one (2T-4T and 5-16) and the purple lab puppy one (4T and 5-16).

I have no excuses.

Long-sleeved Super T (photo from LandsEnd.com): $7.99 down from $14.50; 2T-4T and 4-16 and husky 10-20; seven colors depending on size. I got this one in red for Edward, who loves red so much it makes me want to buy him anything I find in red.

Chino Shorts (photo from LandsEnd.com): $7.97 down from $24.50. It is not much fun to buy shorts in October, but I will be thanking myself in July.

Side Stripe Board Shorts (photo from LandsEnd.com). I was planning to get these for some of the boys (only $6.99, down from $22.50!), but as I hovered over the photo, it flipped and I saw they were not only Side Stripe:

Butt rainbow!

  • I bought shoes for several of us: the all-weather moccasins that are in between sneakers and church shoes. If you go for the funky discounted colors (blue, orange) you can get four pairs and qualify for the deal. I chose discounted teal! for myself. I’m hoping they’ll cheer me up in the winter gloom.

  • I bought those skorts (in different colors) last year and they are fantastic. Lightweight and comfy, but they look good. Nice for wearing out.
