Fun mary janes

I’m looking for a new pair of mary janes, and thought you might like to see some of the fun options I’ve come across while looking for something more sensible.

Miz Mooz Pax Mary Jane (photo from Amazon.com).

Dr. Martens Floral Mary Jane (photo from Amazon.com). INTO MY CART.

Funtasma Contessa Strawberry Mary Jane (photo from Amazon.com). The heel may be the actual reason these will never meet my feet, but a more heart-breaking problem is that when they’re ON, you can’t see the cute strawberry pattern of the inside—and without that, they’re just meh.

T.U.K. Cat Mary Jane (photo from Amazon.com). I’ve looked at these before, and in fact had them in my cart for awhile and may yet succumb, but it’s only on this viewing that I notice they have a TAIL as well as a face.

Skins Erica Mary Jane (photo from Amazon.com). Also available in blues and in greens.

Alegria Feliz Mary Janes (photo from Amazon.com). PRISMATIC. I think these would be my kids’ favorite.

Arcopedico Vitoria Mary Jane (photo from Amazon.com). These seem more art than shoe.

Arcopedico Scala (photo from Amazon.com). I lovvvvvvve the pattern of these, but not the shape.

  • I love the spotty red/orange ones, the plain orange ones and the floral Doc Martens! I also like the strawberry ones but know for sure I’d break my ankle if I tried to wear heels like that. The cat ones are cute but I don’t think I could pull them off (not literally, in a “make them work for me” way).
Fun post! And one that makes me wish I had some money…

  • OMG I love me some mjs. I am searching for ones with no backs. I guess those are mules?

  • so much love. now how about a post on very cute flats that can be worn without socks?

  • I LOVE those orange ones! Have you tried the OTBT ones? I have these, and I love them–comfy, great with pants or skirts, with socks or without. I dig the embroidery on them, but they have more plain ones too. http://www.amazon.com/OTBT-Womens-Springfield-Sandal-Leather/dp/B005GVGO1W/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1331182877&sr=8-1

  • Here’s a dumb question: What kind of socks do you wear with them? I always feel that my choice in socks is conspicuous in a mary jane (but I love them).

  • bunnyslippers- I FEEL THE SAME WAY. I’ve never found what I think is a Really Good solution, because I think thinner socks look better but I only like the thicker cotton ones. My favorite look is BRIGHT thin socks with a plain mary jane, but instead here I am in my No Nonsense white cotton. Sigh.

  • Vanessa- I have yet to master the sockless flat. I see other people doing it all the time and looking both pulled-together and casual—but when I do it, I look like I forgot my socks!
