The next time you have a big job that you need done — carpet cleaning, house painting, power washing, etc. — ask the folks around you if they need the same thing. If you go to a service provider with several jobs that can be completed around the same time and in the same locale, that may be a more profitable package than just a solo deal. So, the provider may be able to give you a better price. One woman I know saved 20 percent on having her driveway resurfaced because she and some neighbors all had it done at the same time. This can also work with repeat services like landscaping, pool maintenance, and house cleaning.
