Thank you all so much for your many ideas for my Progressive Dinner Dilemma. They were all fabulous ideas but, sadly, I can not make all of these options for our party. I could, but there would be a lot of leftovers. I think we’re going to make the stew-ish dish Dawn suggested in the comments. Hopefully all your other wonderful suggestions will make many other Googling Progressive Party hosts very, very happy in the coming years.
I am very poor at saying good bye. Even at the end of parties or when hanging out at home with friends who are dear to me, I often just slip off to bed unnoticed.
Me: “Uh, I’m just going to the bathroom, I’ll be right back.”

…..
[2 Hours Later] Them: “Hey, where did Melissa go?”
Which is sort of what I’d like to do now because in my opinion, endings are almost as awkward as hugs.
However, it seems nice to let you know I’ve decided the time is right to focus on my personal website and the other projects I have going. It turns out four is just too many projects for me to manage.
The good news is this site is remaining at Work It, Mom! and Chris Jordan is taking over. This is wonderful news for you because she has a million children and having a million children requires you to be a lot more organized and entertaining than I could ever dream of being.
I think this is win-win for everyone and maybe I’ll be back from time to time with a guest post.
So, right, there it is. And, uh, anyway, I just have to run to the bathroom and I’ll be right back.

Bummer…I do understand though. I was wondering how in the world you were keeping it together with all your sites. But I loved this particular site. Of course, I’ll continue to read you everywhere else because I love you anyway. :o)

How funny! I am a longtime Suburban Bliss reader who just read this column for the first time yesterday and added it to my feed.
Will look forward to the new writer, and to seeing more content at my favorite mom blog!

I’m glad you’re doing what makes you happy and can choose to be not so overburdened. Also, I love Chris and I’m sure she’ll do a great job taking over here…

Okay, completely unintentionally, I just finished reading Notes from the Trenches and then surfed to Suburban Bliss, which directed me here and to your announcement. Wacky! I never thought about y’all knowing each other, though your blogs are two of only a few that I check regularly. Cool beans. Yay for you both!

Melissa - I have enjoyed your writing at SubBliss, Buzz Off, and here, and was so glad to be able to get a triple dose twice a week. However, I must admit that I wondered how you were able to keep it all going with all the things you are involved in, coupled with trying to raise 2 kids and a husband (yes, I meant to phrase that sentence that way). Focusing on what the future will bring, and how you will keep all of those balls (heh) in the air is an admirable thing.
Oh, and I am so flattered that you have chosed to use the stew recipe that I posted! It just seemed to me to have a certain fahn-cy and interesting edge to it while still keeping on a budget. Love the folks at Cooks Illustrated, as their recipes are always almost guaranteed to come out right the 1st time around. Besides, who doesn’t like saying Carbonnade a la Flammanade, over and over again?

how are hugs awkward? makes goodbyes EASIER so *hugs* and we hope we see you around and guest posting!!! We will miss you but it is quite a nice problem to have, being so busy as to have to let a few things go, dont you think?
in that case CONGRATULATIONS! and continued success
