Caramelicious Brownies

I love you people. No really I do. Now let’s all join hands and give thanks for better living through preservatives and sodium.

I am going to give you a fabulous dessert recipe. That really is too easy to be called a recipe, but since in the last post we all confessed our chicken nugget, string cheese, drive thru, hot dog dinners, I am going to say it counts.

Brownies, made according to the box. Or you could use a real from scratch recipe if you want to be a show off.

While the brownies are cooking you want to make the caramelicious topping.

Topping:
20 caramels
3T milk
1/2 cup or so semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/2 chopped walnuts

After you taste a handful few and make sure that they are okay, put 20 or so of them into your sauce pan with the 3Tof milk. Over a low heat stir constantly until the caramel melts.

Just ask my son what happens when you fail to stir constantly. It wasn’t pretty.

You can watch the brownies cook if you want. Unlike a post of boiling water, it will still bake if you watch it. It’s better than tv. Really.

When your brownies are done baking, I think my box said to bake for 22 minutes, pull the pan out of the oven. Sprinkle the chopped nuts and chocolate chips on top.

Now it is time to pour the caramel over the top.

Keep pouring.

Oh yeah.

My pants are getting tight just looking at this.

I think I am going into diabetic shock just from photographing this.

  • Oh, sorry, I’m still sitting here because I’m drooling over your new kitchen! That oven is to die for.

  • mmmmmmm

also, if you want to be REALLY lazy, you can melt the caramels/milik in the microwave, just on 50% about 2 minutes at a time adn stir between.

this version is MUCH easier than the one my mom would make that involved a german chocolate cake mix NOT by the directoins on the box and pressing and baking, then adding stuff then more pressing and baking… *phew* exhausted just thinking about it, i think that one will magically convert to your version!

  • I’m only making these if I can use your kitchen! That oven is totally awesome!

  • You can also make them sandwiched by splitting the brownie mix in two and baking the bottom part way and then adding all the stuff from the top and topping with the remaining brownie mix (it doesn’t completely cover it) and then finish baking.
